BroadwayWorld previously reported that Tony Award nominee Jonathan Groff will join the cast of HAMILTON as 'King George' on Tuesday, March 3 at The Public Theater, replacing Brian d'Arcy James, who will be starring in SOMETHING ROTTEN on Broadway this spring. Today, March 1, d'Arcy James plays his final HAMILTON performance.

BroadwayWorld previously reported that Tony Award nominee Jonathan Groff will join the cast of HAMILTON as 'King George' on Tuesday, March 3 at The Public Theater, replacing Brian d'Arcy James, who will be starring in Something Rotten on Broadway this spring. HAMILTON creator Lin-Manuel Miranda recently took to Twitter to share a picture of the two actors backstage after a performance, with the caption, 'Monarchial line of succession. Groffsauce.' Review Roundup: KID VICTORY Opens at Signature Theatre
Virginia's Signature Theatre presents the world premiere production of Kid Victory, a new musical from legendary composer John Kander Chicago, Cabaret and acclaimed playwright Greg Pierce Slowgirl. The production began performances at Signature Theatre's MAX Theatre on February 17. It will play for five weeks, through March 22.
STAGE TUBE: On This Day for 3/1/15- GUYS AND DOLLS
Today in 2009, Guys and Dolls opened at the Nederlander Theatre, where it ran for 121 performances. Guys and Dolls is a musical with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows. It is based on 'The Idyll of Miss Sarah Brown' and 'Blood Pressure', two short stories by Damon Runyon, and also borrows characters and plot elements from other Runyon stories, most notably 'Pick the Winner'. Premiering on Broadway in 1950, the original production ran for 1200 performances and won the Tony Award for Best Musical. The musical has had several Broadway revivals as well as West End productions.

One Night Only Report & Photos: Deborah Voigt in VOIGT LESSONS at the 92nd Street Y
There was a seismic event and emotional roller coaster onstage Thursday night at the 92nd Street Y, in the Kaufmann Concert Hall theatre. Her name is DEBBIE ..... DEBORAH VOIT. It was the first performance in New York City of a piece called VOIGT LESSONS. The piece was co-created by Voight, Terrence McNally and Francesca Zambello, years ago, at Glimmerglass and the diva told us that it has been performed 'very few times, let alone in New York City.' The crowd proceeded to go crazy. The piece- so simple, yet brilliantly calibrated.

Happy Birthday, Bernadette Peters Over the course of a career that has spanned five decades, she has starred in musical theatre, films and television, as well as performing in solo concerts and recordings. She is one of the most critically acclaimed Broadway performers, having received nominations for seven Tony Awards, winning two plus an honorary award, and nine Drama Desk Awards, winning three. Four of the Broadway cast albums on which she has starred have won Grammy Awards. Regarded by many as the foremost interpreter of the works of Stephen Sondheim, Peters is particularly noted for her roles on the Broadway stage, including in the musicals Mack and Mabel, Sunday in the Park with George, Song and Dance, Into the Woods, Annie Get Your Gun and Gypsy.
